We had used to receive the delivery packages sent to our door. However, the rule changed after the virus pandemic. Different with the community in the U.S., there are several entrance gates in each community in China. The population density is quite high, but still acceptable. Most of people are living in apartment buildings. There is only one gate left open for the residents in the community after the epidemic. The owner of each apartment needs to sign and get 2 passes for each family in and out the community. Therefore, the delivery men could not get into the community anymore since then. But more people like to buy stuff or order food online (safer). All the packages were sent to the only entrance door and the delivery men called each receiver to pick up their packages. The packages were left in front of the gate if the receivers were not at home.
At beginning, the packages were put on the ground. Gradually, the property management team of each community offered help, they may put several tables there or pasted a piece of paper to mark the delivery zone for each apartment building. There are several big express delivery company, they did good job and cooperate well. The new improvement was that along with the epidemic status getting better, the deliverymen got the pass for entering our community and they even got the access key of each building and sent the packages to our door again. I feel that the trust between people are strongly enhanced after the epidemic.
